Broker I, National Casualty Practice

The National Casualty Practice is a premier team of casualty brokerage professionals with extensive experience in representing buyers of primary and umbrella/excess liability. We are looking to add a Broker I to our Philadelphia Primary Casualty team!

This is a hybrid role with three days a week in the Philadelphia office.

What the day will look like
  • Thorough analysis of current risk transfer programs to include coverage and cost analysis and a graphical representation of the program.
  • Insurance program structure planning and design of alternatives.
  • Provide benchmarking analysis related to limits and coverage terms.
  • Prepare all marketplace insurance submissions, coordinate and conduct market meetings and negotiations as appropriate in coordination with Account Executives. May include some travel.
  • Finalize all quotes and complete a thorough comparison of program options as part of the client proposal presentation. Comparison to include changes in exposures, losses, collateral, coverage terms and conditions and cost of risk.
  • Serve as a primary or secondary market contact as assigned and in accordance with established policy.
  • As part of a team, you are expected to educate and advise fellow team members on coverage issues, markets, and related developments.
  • Serve as team member for Aon's broking library and periodically contribute to the library and related best practices.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Casualty broker with 2-5 years of experience working in primary placements and/or in casualty. Will be asked to work directly with clients as lead broker or secondary broker to build primary casualty programs, as well as participate on new business opportunities.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, exceptional organizational skills, ability to make and communicate difficult decisions.
  • An experienced primary casualty broker or underwriter with a solid understanding of and relationships with insurance company management and underwriting teams/personnel.
  • Strong written and communication skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with clients and the marketplace.
  • A strong team player who understands the roles and responsibilities of other Aon professionals on the team, assumes responsibility for the timely delivery of a professional work product in accordance with assigned roles, and facilitates communication among team members.
  • Promote creativity in presenting new ideas and approaches for clients or prospects; promote a positive attitude in always trying to improve a program.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
  • Property and Casualty Brokers License is required (can be attained on the job)

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $76,100 to $111,100 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
