Senior Analyst- Risk Management

This position is responsible for supporting key aspects of the company's global liability insurance programs and associated accounting functions. This role serves as the primary resource for all liability-related inquiries and ensures complete and accurate financial reporting. The analyst will lead efforts in insurance program oversight, claims management, financial reconciliation, and enterprise-wide reporting and analytics related to insurance claims and losses.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  1. Insurance Program Support

    • Prepare and analyze underwriting insurable values for annual insurance renewals.

    • Analyze insurance coverage needs and assist in procurement decisions.

    • Support program financing, including budgeting, accruals, and cost allocation.

  2. Relationship Management

    • Develop and support relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers including legal, brokers, insurers and third-party claims management administrators.

  3. Claims Management

    • Manage the claims process, including coordination with third-party administrators.

    • Participate in trials and mediations with internal and external legal counsel.

    • Support loss control initiatives

  4. Accounting and Reporting

    • Ensure accuracy in departmental accounting and perform monthly reconciliations

    • Collaborate with service providers to maintain system integrity.

    • Validate claims data and produce reports on trends, costs, and root causes.

    • Lead ad hoc analysis and reporting projects.

  5. Compliance / Other

    • Support reporting and accounting related to the company's insurance captive.
    • Provide support for contract reviews for insurance language compliance.
    • Monitor and update risk management policies.
    • Act as administrator for the Company's risk management system.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited institution is preferred

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3+ years of work experience in a financial related role.
  • Skill set includes problem solving, attention to detail and critical thinking, decision-making abilities, organizational skills, excellent (oral and written) communication skills, and the capability to work independently.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment to implement process improvements.

Preferred:

  • Ability to interface with top management
  • Accounting experience
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Knowledge or experience in insurance or risk management related field

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Products
  • Advanced accounting skills. Will oversee the department accounting functions
  • Computer skills and experience using Excel

Preferred:

  • History implementing or supporting systems
  • History of working with Oracle and OneStream
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Tableau
