Job Summary

The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including Air Force Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation.

The Special Programs Division supports a broad array of Combat Power missions covering the entire threat response chain which includes the multidomain effects needed for space superiority. These programs include major system acquisitions for multiple ground and space segments, future architecture definition at the data/software/hardware levels, and research and technology for continuous evolution of space warfighting capabilities.

Our team is seeking an expert Data Management and Information System Specialist (Project Management Specialist III) to support the directorate program offices and matrixed engineering staff that provide technical and acquisition expertise to a portfolio of government acquisition programs. You will support a group working on the most critical United States Space Force acquisition programs ensuring national security capabilities for countering threats and maintaining space superiority.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist staff with information systems in our unclassified and classified workspaces by bringing to bear knowledge and coordinating with government and Aerospace support organizations (e.g., security, Enterprise Information Services, and facilities)
  • Process file transfers from unclassified to classified information systems
  • Synchronize the resources in our shared workspaces like the lab used by our matrixed engineering staff
  • Develop and coordinate the directorate electronic library to assure our documentation is set up, maintained, and retained in the optimal location
  • Manage processes and tracking systems to maintain configuration management of Aerospace assets within our classified workspaces
  • Assist Aerospace staff on processes for acquiring new network accounts
  • Collaborate with Aerospace business manager and facilities organizations to submit and track work requests

What you Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Data Management and Information System Specialist (Project Management Specialist III):

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of (5) years of relevant professional or educational experience is required
  • Familiarity with configuration and data management is required
  • Responsible for providing project control, scheduling and business management coordination to projects operating under government and commercial contracts as well as internal programs
  • Ability to communicate optimally and independently tackle sophisticated problems in a team setting on timelines
  • A current and active TS/SCI with SAP eligibility, which is issued by the U.S. government is required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • A minimum of (5) or more years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or (3) or more years of relevant experience with Master's degree is preferred
  • Prior experience working on classified TS/ SCI or SAP information systems is strongly desired
  • Track record of building, maintaining, and auditing document management and storage systems (e.g., SharePoint and Livelink)
  • Familiarity with Aerospace processes, such as Facility Work Orders, Procurement, and Enterprise Information Services

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
