Overview

This job exists to support the research mission for the Division of Neurology. The Research Assistant will provide administrative and organizational support to the research team. This role is strictly non-clinical and does not involve any direct patient contact. The assistant will help ensure smooth day-to-day operations of research activities through documentation, coordination, and compliance-related tasks.

Responsibilities

    Provide administrative support for research projects, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking meeting minutes.
  • Assist with preparation, formatting, and submission of research documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical files related to research studies.
  • Manage data entry for research databases and ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Track research timelines, deliverables, and project milestones.
  • Support grant and manuscript submissions by compiling references, editing documents, and formatting according to guidelines.
  • Coordinate communication between investigators, collaborators, and administrative offices.
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance tasks, including maintaining IRB documentation, renewals, and correspondence.
  • Prepare purchase orders, manage supply inventories, and process reimbursements related to research activities.
  • Perform literature searches and compile bibliographies as directed.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience Experience in research subject enrollment and database management for one year period of time
  • HS diploma or equivalent or Associates degree and 5-7 years experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and reference management software (e.g., EndNote, Zotero) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with research compliance requirements (e.g., IRB, HIPAA) is desirable but not required.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $22.99/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children's Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
