We're looking to hire a talented Application Sales Engineer. This role is ideal for a tenacious, passionate individual driven to succeed individually, and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Application Sales Engineer is a technical, customer facing advisory position designed to support and grow sales within a defined region. This position acts as a key liaison to leverage our robust portfolio of products, equipment, PPE and services to solve clients' diverse business challenges.

Primary Duties

  • Acts as the lead technical liaison working with the regional team to identify new opportunities, conduct demonstrations and facilitate training exercises with the goal to grow sales within the region.
  • Provides technical consultation on welding applications, equipment, consumables and fabrication processes.
  • Conducts on-site evaluations, product demonstrations and trials to support customer needs.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are tailored to customer applications.
  • Develops and delivers technical presentations, proposals and quotes.
  • Assists in onboarding new clients and supporting them through the implementation phase.
  • Shares technical knowledge freely within team and helps to raise the technical aptitude in the region.
  • Maintains accurate records in CRM and prepare regular sales activity and forecasting reports.
  • Represents the company at trade shows, industry events, and training sessions as needed
  • Assists with the responses to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Supports and/or leads the quoting process for customer acquisition.
  • Participates in projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, welding or metallurgy preferred; may consider 5+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience in technical sales, welding engineering or application support within the welding/fabrication industry strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of weld processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.) materials and fabrication techniques required.
  • AWS certification (CWI or CWE) and experience with automation or robotic welding systems, a plus.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, combined with the demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, works independently with minimal supervision and raises issues, challenges and/or concerns - while bringing solutions - proactively.
  • CRM experience tracking demo's, call reports, and opportunities.
  • Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office work, travel and customer site visits (including sitting in meetings, walking factory floors, climbing stairs, utilizing computers and electronics).
  • Exposure to industrial environments; must adhere to all PPE requirements during site visits, training and demonstrations.
  • Moves, transports, installs or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushes and pulls products weighing up to 50 lbs. using provided safety tools.
  • May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
  • Able to travel up to 75%, including overnight, as needed.

Pay Range:

$93,216.00-$108,593.00
