Genesis10 is seeking an HR Representative for a month contract to hire position with our client. This is a100% onsite opportunity located in Norwalk, IA.
Compensation: $25.00 - 30.00 per hour W2, depending on skill and experience level.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive support across all areas of Human Resources, including employee communication, benefits coordination, new hire orientation, attendance tracking, recognition programs, and company events. The role also performs a variety of administrative tasks, assists employees with HR-related questions, and ensures a welcoming environment for both employees and visitors. Working closely with the HR Supervisor, HRBP and Sr. HR Manager, this position helps maintain effective HR operations and supports the overall employee experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the administration of various human resources programs and functions. HR Representatives may have areas of focus based on department needs.
- Track and coordinate benefit enrollments for new hires, annual enrollment, and status changes.
- Manage the new hire orientation process from start to finish, including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, coordinating presenters, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
- Organize company events and programs.
- Administer and promote recognition programs, including Employee of the Month and other appreciation initiatives.
- Participate in committees as needed to provide HR presence and support.
- Provide back-up support to others in the HR Department as needed.
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, answering phones, photocopying, faxing, and filing.
- Process employee change requests (e.g., job title, department, manager updates).
- Assist with the administration of the company attendance policy.
- Support employees with questions related to benefits and employment. Verbally interpret and translate company communications and documents as needed.
- Provide front desk support, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for employees and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or (GED), or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective follow-up, problem-solving, communication, creativity, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HRIS system.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must maintain professionalism when handling personnel issues, including confidential information.
- Ability to track multiple priorities/projects with ease.
- High energy and engagement, with ability to focus on positive internal stakeholder outcomes.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Management strongly preferred.
- Previous HR experience desired.
- Previous clerical experience desired.
- Knowledge of UltiPro HRIS system is helpful but not required.
- Proficiency in computer programs (Word and Excel required; PowerPoint preferred).
- Ability to multitask, adjust priorities efficiently, and meet business demands.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual in Spanish (highly preferred), Swahili, or Karen preferred.
