Position Summary
Charlotte FC is committed to positively impacting our communities across the Carolinas through initiatives that Grow the Game (expanding access to soccer), Serve Those Who Serve (supporting teachers, healthcare workers, military and first responders) and strive for Mint Condition (promoting holistic well-being).
We are seeking an inclusive and collaborative Community Engagement Manager to partner across departments in developing and executing community initiatives. This role will help design impactful programs, build and maintain authentic relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure alignment with the Club's mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute community initiatives that align with Charlotte FC's pillars: Grow the Game, Serve Those Who Serve, and Mint Condition.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure programs are fully integrated into organizational priorities.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, nonprofits, and schools to expand program reach and impact.
- Plan, implement and manage matchday community activations.
- Support partnership activations by delivering on community-focused commitments and initiatives.
- Oversee request intake, tracking, and fulfillment for nonprofit sponsorships, auctions and raffles.
- Monitor assigned program budgets and measured program impact, using data and feedback to inform decisions and continuous improvement.
- Represent Charlotte FC in the community at events during business hours, nights and weekends as needed.
- Support Camps & Clinics programming as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in community relations or nonprofit; preferably in a sports environment.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, sports management, or related field of study.
- Knowledge of soccer and the surrounding community is preferred.
- Must have a valid US Driver's license.
- Must pass pre-employment screens.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment and outside in a stadium facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Local travel to events may be required. This position typically works approximately 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work in all Charlotte FC home matches.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
- Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
- Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
