Gemini is looking for a skilled and adaptable Injection Mold Set-up Technician to join the team at our location in Cannon Falls, MN! This position is responsible for working under limited supervision, the position is responsible for setting up Sentinel and Letter molds, establishing optimum machine process parameters, troubleshooting process, mold and machine problems, performing preventive maintenance on molds and operating injection presses production and sample runs. This position provides technical support on tool design and process control as well as ensures all materials and auxiliary equipment are available and scheduled accordingly. Wage Range: USD $21.74 - $29.08 per Hour

Type: Full Time - Onsite
Schedule: 4/10 hour days; 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM ( Tuesday through Friday)
- Overtime is scheduled as needed.
A day in the life of an Injection Mold Set-up Technician at Gemini includes:
- Setting up case molds and letter molds in the injection molded presses.
- Programming robotic spruce pickers to maximize cycle times
- Performs process setups on each mold / part and ensures documentation is followed and / or modified in writing as needed.
- Uses various diagnostic tools to optimize the injection process to make the best possible product in the least amount of time.
- Be a technical resource and tooling design specialist working closely with Management and Engineering.
- Set up all subassembly operations and assure quality requires are met and maintained.
- Will provide work direction to all press operators and assembly personnel.
- Performs daily and periodic preventive maintenance on tooling and machinery.
- Inspects and test cases at the beginning of each production run using ASTM methods to insure conformance to customer specific standards.
- Fills hoppers on injection presses with appropriate materials as indicated by the job packet
- Record all process parameter at the end of each production run on standardized Process Run Sheets
- Operates drill presses, cutters, milling Machine, sonic welders and custom fixtures as needed to meet quality standards.
- Records production units produced during the shift on daily log sheets.
- Visually inspect parts for surface and dimensional defects
- Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees.
- Always maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- Always use all required safety supplies and procedures.
- May perform similar or related duties as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work in multiple areas of production
- Ability to learn and work on a variety of machines
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma /GED
- 3 - 5 years of experience in setting up and operating injection molding machines, robotic pickers or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-Year Certificate in plastic related field or experience with plastic manufacturing
- Manufacturing machine operations experience preferred
