Gemini is looking for a skilled 2nd Sift Injection Press Operator to join the team at our location in Cannon Falls, MN! This position is responsible for working under general supervision to set up molds and operate injection presses, performing required adjustments to form parts and letters as well as filling hoppers and trims stems from formed letters. Wage Range: USD $21.36 - $27.92 per Hour (Posted range is inclusive of an additional 10% shift premium for working 2nd shift)

Location: Cannon Falls, MN

Type: Full Time - Onsite

Schedule: 4/10 hour days 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM ( Monday through Thursday)

- Overtime is scheduled as needed.

A day in the life of a Injection Press Operator at Gemini includes:

  • Filling hoppers on injection presses with appropriate materials as indicated by the work order.
  • Activating injection presses following standard practices, and monitors letters being produced.
  • Produces parts in appropriate quantities to meet customer orders and to maintain desired inventory levels.
  • Sets up letter molds, pad molds and custom molds on injection presses ensuring that the molds are not damaged, are the correct size, and make appropriate adjustments to produce acceptable parts.
  • Inspects pressed letters and molded parts, ensuring that letters produced are consistent with quality standards required by the company.
  • Operates a slotter, sawing slots in injection and form letters.
  • Clips stems from letters using a hand clipper, and places letters into a box.
  • Monitors the hoppers of several presses, ensuring that a sufficient supply of plastic is supplied to produce an acceptable level of production of letters during the shift.
  • May replace drills or make minor adjustments on presses when required, ensuring that proper size drills are used.
  • Records production units produced during the shift and forwards such information to the Lead Person or Plant Manager.
  • May provide job-related training to lesser skilled employees as required.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees.
  • Always maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Always uses all required safety supplies and procedures.
  • May perform similar or related duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work in multiple areas of production
  • Ability to learn and work on a variety of machines

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 0 - 2 years minimum experience in a manufacturing or machine operator role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing machine operations experience preferred
  • Experience with plastic manufacturing
