Application Window Open date: September 30, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Oct 15, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Mar 30, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Madhani Lab - Full Specialist A Specialist position is currently available for immediate employment in the Madhani laboratory (madhanilab.ucsf.edu) in the University of California, San Francisco in the Genentech Hall Building (at the Mission Bay campus) to study the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans, which the Madhani lab has pioneered as a model pathogen and model organism. C. neoformans is a budding yeast, which is responsible for hundreds of thousands of infections worldwide in highly immunocompromised patients, including organ transplant patients and individuals infected with HIV. The primary job duties include leading efforts to generate a genetic interaction map of C. neoformans using cutting-edge CRISPR/Cas9-based methods that employ high-throughput sequencing and downstream computational analysis. Secondary duties will be to assist in the design and analysis of high-throughput genetic and tagging experiments. The selected candidate will work closely with research technicians, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. Required Qualifications:
