Join our team! We're building a world where Identity belongs to you.

About Our Team

The Studio at Okta is a growing group within Marketing, composed of creatives, strategists, producers, and marketing managers alike. Our team's focus is to lead the brand, tell powerful stories and inspire creative excellence.

As a partner to cross-functional teams across all of Okta, we tie our goals to our most important company initiatives, driving towards shared KPIs, strategies and processes to unify and push the brand and business forward.

About the Role

We're looking for a Creative Strategist to be a great writer and ideator for our teams. Your main job is to raise our creative bar so our brands stand out in a crowded market. You'll connect our business goals with fresh thinking, creating new stories that get people talking and deliver real results.

You'll be a visionary and a hands-on leader. You'll guide top creative agencies and our own internal team, providing both high-level strategy and practical advice. We need someone with great creative instincts and a focus on performance who can motivate a team to consistently produce work that gets noticed.

What You'll Do

  • Drive the Creative: Collaborate on the creative strategy for our biggest projects-events, sponsorships, and campaigns-to attract new audiences and help our brand grow.
  • Write Inspiring Briefs: Build powerful creative briefs that are based on what our audience, industry, and culture are doing. Your briefs will spark great ideas and lead to impactful work.
  • Set the Standard: Make sure all our creative work is bold, on-point, and true to our brand. You'll be the champion for great design and more powerful messaging across all touchpoints.
  • Tell Our Story: Turn complex ideas into simple, clear, and compelling brand stories. You'll create narratives that not only excite our customers but also inspire our partners and executives.
  • Connect the Dots: Work closely with our marketing, media, and product teams to make sure we're all on the same page. Your collaboration will ensure our creative assets are effective and get results.
  • Sell Your Ideas: Present your creative concepts with confidence to senior leaders.
  • Learn from the Data: Look at how our creative work performs and use that information to make smarter choices for future projects.
  • Keep Innovating: Constantly look for new opportunities to bring fresh ideas to the table that will have a big impact on the business.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: At least 7+ years of experience in a creative or brand strategy role, working directly with creative teams, either in-house or at a creative agency.
  • Strategic Skills: You're a big-picture thinker who starts with insights, not just with what looks good. You can take a business goal and turn it into compelling creative work.
  • Exceptional Writing: Your writing is excellent-it's sharp, clear, and never sounds like corporate speak. You can create high-quality content and rally a team around new thinking.
  • Bias for Action: You like to move fast and get things done, even if you don't have all of the resources at your disposal. You're a natural leader with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong Portfolio: You can share past work that shows your original thinking, flawless execution, and ability to connect with an audience. Your case studies should prove you can use cultural and consumer insights to inspire great creative.
  • Data Savvy: You have a solid history of using both numbers and feedback to guide your decisions and improve your work.
