Summary: The Logistics Manager will provide item and inventory management services, supply management, stock control, and cataloging for government owned operating materials and supplies (OM&S) inventory and initial deployment inventory in support of assigned systems for but not limited to the C5ISC Communications Product Line.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise and Lead Team of Logistics Specialists and Analysts.
- Perform total Integrated Logistics Management for all Electronic Communications Equipment located at Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) Baltimore warehouse.
- Perform Life Cycle Management (cradle to grave) for all Electronic Communications Equipment to include identifying replacement components for obsolescence as a result of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).
- Initiate Financial Documents to include Procurement Requests and MILSTRIP Award Documents in Financial System Modernization Solutions (FSMS).
- Initiate and Manage procurement of specialized, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Electronic Communications Equipment and incidental logistics support through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) Contract.
- Lead Team and Conduct Configuration Verification Audits of all Electronic Communications Equipment at Coast Guard Units and Remote Facilities.
- Initiate and Manage establishment of Allowance Parts Lists (APL's) and Initial Entry Point (IEP's) for new Electronic Communications Equipment and Components; to include initial provision of inventory seed stock.
- Participate in Life Cycle Cost Estimate preparation for newly fielded Communications Systems and Ancillary Electronic Components.
- Coordinate and participate in Deployment Planning and Execution of newly Communications Systems and Ancillary Equipment.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven track record of success in optimizing logistics operations, reducing costs, and improving service levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and senior management.
- Leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, drive change, and achieve results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as a supervisor.
- Minimum 10 years' experience (or equivalent experience) in Fleet Logistics System (FLS), Naval Engineering Supply Support System (NESSS) and 10 years Defense Logistics Agency Contracts.
- Must have 20 years of Coast Guard expertise in financial management, supply support, procurement, property management, warehousing, and integrated inventory logistics management.
