What to Expect
This role will be based out of the Greater Houston Area (TX) however will be expected to work in Fremont (CA) to support early builds and validation for the first 6-12 months. Other travel may be required.
The Metrology Supervisor at the Megafactory Houston Factory will work as a member of the Metrology group in the Quality organization. They will supervise all operations inside the Metrology Lab, which runs 24/7 on all four shifts. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within Tesla cross-functional teams. The Metrology Supervisor role will also need strong knowledge of applied Metrology as well as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) to be able to answer team questions or support other cross-functional teams. Work will require participation in cross-functional teams and supplier meetings.
What You'll Do
Support development of each Metrology Technician's expertise through training sessions, external technical training, and providing direction on structured projects, including organizing and leading weekly update meetings
Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
Work closely with Dimensional and Quality Engineers on continuous improvement activities, problem-solving, and improving overall product quality, including ensuring proper CMM and PCMM programs
Support Leads and Dimensional Engineers in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) while ensuring best practices are followed during CMM and PCMM operations, and present clear, concise updates to executive-level stakeholders

Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
