Description

Provides technical expertise and direction for a designated section of the laboratory. Creates, maintains and follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation agencies and Washington State laws. Works with Laboratory management to ensure that the scope of services provided meets the needs of the caregivers, clients, and patients.

Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Variable shift.

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related discipline.
  • National Laboratory Tech - United States Government upon hire. Or
  • National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire. Or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists upon hire. Or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts upon hire. Or
  • National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists upon hire.
  • 3 years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in the U.S., Canada or a CAP/The Joint Commission accredited laboratory within the last six years. These three years of experience must be acquired post-baccalaureate degree and be under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology) or an appropriately board certified medical scientist


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Allied Health, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field
