Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratories are looking for individuals who are interested in joining the Reclamation and Remediation Operations (RRO) team. The RRO team is a part of the Radiological Infrastructure and Operations Group that has been tasked with preparing and demolishing legacy radiological facilities. As an experienced Environmental Health Technician, your role will be to collaborate within the RIO team to ensure all waste is generated and disposed of properly. You will also be tasked with ensuring the work team is briefed to understand the waste that will be created. Familiarity with various waste streams, packaging requirements, and accumulation areas are preferred. The EHT will be assigned to a team where safety is paramount, and the individual must be knowledgeable with those safety standards. The candidate will also be required to interpret written directions and be able to perform those tasks with first time quality. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or Journeymans Papers in a related field; or Qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent). Preferred Skills
Experience in industrial or laboratory work environment. Experience and familiarity in applying safety and environmental regulations such as: OSHA - Elevated work, confined space, silica, excavation, lead, asbestos, LOTO, etc. EPA/PADEP - Hazardous, toxic wastes, erosion and sedimentation controls Familiar with MS Suite usage and professional communication. Familiarity with working to detailed procedures to specific quality parameters such as ASTM standards, OSHA requirements, technical design criteria in drawings/blueprints, etc. Able to work directly with team members to solve complex issues quickly. Pay Range
$51,800.00 - $77,700.00 annually
