0.90 FTE / 36 hours per week.



The Mammography Technologist - Lead position is responsible for applying ionizing radiation to demonstrate portions of the human body on a radiographic screen to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease. The Mammography Technologist - Lead is responsible for ordering supplies, assisting in the interviewing, and hiring of all prospective Mammography Technologists, as well as assisting with the performance evaluations and work scheduling for existing Mammography staff. The incumbent serves as the internal Mammography expert. The Mammography Technologist - Lead works under the general guidance, supervision, and direction of the Medical Imaging Manager.

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications



  1. Completion of a Radiology technology program from an accredited program.
  2. Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  3. Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  4. Valid Wisconsin Radiographer license is required.
  5. Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. The incumbent must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment.
  6. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Mammography Technologist. Leadership experience is desirable.
  7. Must maintain current continuing medical education credits.
  8. Ability to travel to various work sites. Incumbent is expected to provide personal transportation. Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver license if the employee is operating a motor vehicle.
  9. As assigned, float to other work sites/clinics to serve as backup and provide coverage during staff absences, position vacancies or when patient needs exceed staffing resources.
  10. Knowledge of general anatomy.
  11. Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiographic imaging equipment.
  12. Knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in radiographic examination is required, as well as knowledge of radiation exposure techniques.
  13. Knowledge of and ability to use/learn PACS archiving systems.
  14. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to OSHA standards and other patient care protocols.
  15. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer-based applications such as MS Office, electronic medical record systems and scheduling applications.
  16. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to be culturally sensitive and to work with a diverse patient population and excellent customer service skills are required.
  17. Knowledge of interviewing practices and techniques used in order to gather information.
  18. Ability to recognize, identify and report problems to appropriate personnel.
  19. Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation.
  20. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality is required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
  21. Ability to stand for up to 90% of a workday.
  22. Ability to lift from waist level and carry loads ranging from 15-50 lbs.
  23. Ability to push and pull radiographic equipment.
  24. Ability to handle, control left and right hand, and reach (above shoulder, over 18" and to the floor). Near and midrange vision.
