Purpose

Serve as primary Human Resources contact for assigned units within the College of Liberal Arts. Work closely with the Director of Human Resources to assist staff with Workday related training and best practices. Develop Workday best practices for the College of Liberal Arts and assist with the training effort across the college. Provide additional Human Resources expertise needed to manage Workday processes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day human resources support for students, faculty, and staff within the College of Liberal Arts. Assist with triaging inquiries and correspondence to appropriate Human Resources personnel as needed. Ensure compliance with university, state, and federal regulations and policies. Maintain a strong understanding of policies and operational needs related to Human Resources functions. Provide support for internal processes and Workday inquiries. Provide additional administrative support to members of the Liberal Arts Human Resources Team, including assistance with special projects as assigned.
  • Support Human Resources operations by processing high-volume business transactions, preparing Human Resources reports. Ensure accuracy of business processes and ongoing compliance with regulations and university policies. Serve as a liaison between College departments and central university offices.
  • Liaison between College departments and central university offices. Collaborate with Human Resources Coordinators to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies. Collaborate with departments to draft job descriptions. Manage the offer process including consulting with managers and Human Resources team on compensation and preparation of offer letters. Maintain accurate recruitment files and ensure thorough documentation of all related processes.
  • Attend Human Resources Collaborative meetings. Assist and/or lead training sessions and open labs for COLA staff. Serve as a resource for training opportunities for new and existing staff within the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Work with Human Resources team members to review processes and procedures across the college. Contribute to the development and implementation of new or improved processes as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned - perform additional related tasks as needed to support the HR function and college operations.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years' professional experience in human resource functions, demonstrating a solid knowledge of human resources best practices, processes, labor laws, and regulations. Proven experience in delivering high quality customer service. Advanced knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, with specific expertise in I-9 compliance, timekeeping principles, and business processes. Candidates must demonstrate skill in building and maintaining effective working relationships in a collegial setting. Strong work ethic, with a consistent track record of reliability, attendance, and punctuality. Demonstrated ability to navigate a wide range of administrative tasks and shifting priorities with precision, confidentiality, and professionalism. Conduct research to resolve Human Resources related issues and ensure compliance with University, state, and federal regulations and COLA policies. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment. Strong interpersonal, people, and communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to providing responsive and professional human resources support. Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication. Capable of exercising sound judgment and maintaining productivity in a fast-paced, dynamic work setting with minimal supervision.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a higher education or public sector environment, especially within a large institution. Familiarity with The University of Texas at Austin policies, procedures, and administrative systems. Ability to proactively assess departmental needs and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency. Proficiency in Workday or other human resource administrative platform systems, including knowledge of human resources business processes, reporting tools, and onboarding workflows. Experience coordinating meetings, trainings, or events, including handling scheduling, logistics, and communications. Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to continuous improvement in human resources operations and administrative practices.

Salary Range

$55,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
