Role Purpose & Overview

The Training Specialist role is a hands-on leader of training experiences with associates across the bakery. This role is critical to the successful skill development needs of our people, in areas including People & Food Safety and Job Skills such as operating equipment, ensuring product quality, and working together as a team of people committed to bakery success.

Core Accountablilites



  • Design and deliver engaging training programs, including new hire orientation and safety, job skills and compliance training
  • Create and maintain training materials such as SOP's, job aids and internal communications
  • Work with the Supervisors and Managers to coordinate training schedules
  • Work with the Training Supervisor to ensure all training materials and tools are up to date, and ready for use
  • Work with the Training Supervisor to track associate skills development, training attendance and program outcomes
  • Helps to coordinate Alchemy/Coach training for all departments and assists with delivery of orientation for all new hires
  • Work with the training supervisor to monitor associate application of training to job performance and discuss gaps and solutions with people managers
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Experience & Qualifications



  • Minimum of 1 year experience designing and delivering training programs
  • Minimum of High School Diploma; or equivalent. Post-secondary education preferred
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


  • Experience in food manufacturing industry is desired
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)



Physical Requirements:



  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work standing or walking for long periods of time
  • Work bending and squatting
  • Work making fast and repetitive hand motions
  • Work in cold refrigerated and frozen conditions



The Work Environment:



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
