General Description |
The Credit Risk Specialist is responsible for the analysis and summarization of financial and/or loan data in a format conducive to management's decision-making process. Performs a wide variety of tasks which require a broad knowledge of department operations, policies and procedures. Assists the Director of Credit Risk Administration with a variety of special projects to facilitate both the credit review and examiner oversight process. |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Responsible for reporting and oversight related to the Allowance for Credit Losses in accordance with CECL and FASB requirements. This duty is performed about 40% of the time.
- Conducts quarterly Allowance for Credit Loss/CECL meetings with senior management in conjunction with the Director of Credit Risk Administration. Also assists in preparing reports for the meetings. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
- Provides back-up support of department personnel which includes, but is not limited to, industry reports and graphs, portfolio reports, SEC, and Call Report supplemental reports. This duty is performed about 25% of the time.
- Assists bank examiners and audit personnel in obtaining various information related to Credit Risk. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
- Works with the Director of Credit Risk Administration on a variety of special projects, reports, and other duties as deemed necessary. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements |
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
- 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training
- Regular use of desktop/laptop computer, basic operating systems, and specialized software systems.
- Advanced experience with Excel; intermediate experience with accounting, alphanumeric data entry, PowerPoint, and Word Processing
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages and apply concepts such as fractions and ratios.
