Position Summary

The Practice Technology Project Manager will report to the Program Manager in Practice Technology. Requirements include foundational law and legal technology understanding in advanced legal technology areas, with a strong emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative Ai, Large Language Models (LLMs), and blockchain technologies. This is a specialized role, requiring highly technical acumen and understanding of how W&C practices perform day to day work.

The position will be responsible for coordinating and tracking project(s) and progress addressing several use cases that the Practice Technology group is engaged in pursuing or asked to test. Manage the intake steps on solution use cases and engagements, recording requirements, criteria, dataflow, and testing. General project management skills required. Ability to multi-task across several initiatives as needed, coordinate across case teams around the use case process and results. Record recommended changes or improvements for successful repeatability to the Practice Technology Programs team. Prepare documentation as appropriate. Be actively involved in liaising with service and consultancy partners; assist in prioritizing projects from start to the outcome and assessment state. Provide periodic update to the Practice Technology programs teams and perform tasks as requested by the team.

Also necessary are strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment effectively manage multiple responsibilities.

Duties and Accountabilities1
  • Working alongside W&C practice groups to understand legal workflows and suggest opportunities for technology to improve day-to-day workflows.
  • Coordinating with internal Practice Technology team and vendors to support and oversee development of use cases.
  • Preparing recommendations, budgets, and project plans for use case development.
  • Communicating with practices on progress of use cases.
  • Reporting to case teams, senior team members, and management on project status.
  • Tracking, analyzing and triaging data received from practices and vendors.
  • Perform other duties necessary and essential to support the firm's strategic technology goals.
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally to support projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; legal or technical degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of Legal Technology experience or advanced degree (i.e. law degree)
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions a big plus. Familiarity with GenAI, coding, prompting a strong plus.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client service orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess superb written and verbal communication skills to enable effective and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Able to manage time and resources to meet or exceed established service level agreements.
  • Flexibility to switch between hybrid and full in-office schedules, as required by the firm.
  • Flexibility to service multiple regions to support ongoing project needs.

  • This role can be based in either New York, Washington D.C., or London.
