Responsibilities

What You'll Do as a Senior Manager of Health and Safety Program Development and Assurances

As a Senior Manager of Health and Safety Program Development and Assurances at North Coast Holdings (NCH), you'll:

    Assist the VP Safety and Human Performance (HuP) in designing and executing the enterprise-wide EH&S strategy across all NCH businesses.

  • Lead the implementation of standardized EH&S policies, procedures, and training across operations, establishing and sharing best practices.

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to drive all EH&S initiatives, cultivating a zero-harm culture with strong policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Develop strategies related to safety, health, sustainability, environmental impact, and energy conservation.

  • Stay current on trends, best practices, and public policy related to EH&S; communicate opportunities and close performance gaps to the VP Safety and HuP.

  • Conduct independent audits, establish priorities, and partner with stakeholders (Business Presidents, Vice Presidents, Safety Leadership) to drive compliance and improvements with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.

  • Implement systems and processes for EH&S monitoring, measurement, and reporting.

  • Lead collection, analysis, and reporting of metrics, auditing, and key indicators to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across the enterprise.



Qualifications

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).

  • Proven track record of driving EHS performance and cultural transformation, including safety, sustainability, environmental, and health standards.

  • Thorough working knowledge of EHS standards and the regulatory environment (OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials, emergency preparedness).

  • Experienced leadership in managing EH&S across multiple operations/facilities.

  • Strong experience partnering with operational leaders and regulators.

  • Demonstrated success implementing/managing Human Performance or behavior-based safety programs (highly preferred).

  • Six Sigma/Lean experience, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE certification preferred; Six Sigma/Lean Black Belt strongly preferred.

Physical Demands

Ability to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive keystrokes regularly.

  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and lift/move up to 25 lbs.

  • Travel regularly, including overnight stays via ground or air.
