Hourly Pay Range:

$17.00 - $25.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Pool Attendant

  • Location: Chicago, IL

  • Part time

  • Hours: Monday 3-9:30pm, Thursday 2:30-8:30pm, Friday 7am-1pm

  • Required Travel: none

A Brief Summary:

  • To facilitate the proper usage of water activities, by members and guests, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment. To be fully aware of the pool schedule, rules, and overall program information and how to present that information appropriately.

What you will do:

  • Ensure safety of members and guests

  • Maintain constant awareness of entire pool and pool deck area. This is demonstrated by proactively engaging with members and guests, ensuring that members and guests are using the pools and pool equipment correctly, and initiating emergency response system when appropriate.

  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained by enforcing the pool rules with tact and diligence.

  • Understand the pool schedules and the pool attendant's responsibilities during each program and activity.

  • Maintain a clean and safe pool area. This is demonstrated by setting up or taking down class equipment, identifying potential hazards, and providing an overall clean and productive aquatic environment.

  • Present yourself in a professional and authoritative manner.

What you will need:

  • High School Diploma.

  • MUST have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within the first 30 days of work. These certifications MUST be maintained at all times while employed by Galter Life Center

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and are able to give direction and assistance.

  • Must be able to swim 25 yards on the front and 25 yards on the back without touching the ground.

  • Should be friendly, helpful and have the ability to relate well with people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Previous experience as a Lifeguard or in a similar field is preferred.
