Description and Requirements
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product introductions.
  • Manufacturing Process Development:
    Design, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and test fixtures.
  • Supplier and Manufacturing Management:
    Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to develop and optimize custom parts and production processes.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Prepare documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), control plans, and work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Risk Management:
    Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Process Improvement:
    Drive continuous improvement activities, analyze production performance metrics, and provide technical support to the manufacturing floor.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 4 plus years of experience in manufacturing, process development, or new product introduction (NPI)

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers in a high-mix, low- to mid-volume production environment

  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and engineering documentation systems (e.g., PLM tools like Agile, Windchill)

  • Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and ability to lead design reviews with cross-functional teams

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA)

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related engineering or technical discipline

  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)

  • Experience launching hardware products in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics)

  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)

  • Hands-on experience supporting production line setups, validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and ramp-ups
