Plant Superintendent

The Plant Superintendent effectivelycoordinates and supervises all phases of plant operations, insures compliance with all Seneca Foods Corporation policies and government regulatory agencies and assumes responsibility for plantoperations in the absence of the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operation of Plant productionincludingproduction, scheduling, quality control, thermal processing, double seaming, & maintenance.
• Ensures all manufacturing, environmental, quality, and processing procedures are followed.
• Maintains cost control over budget, equipment, and supplies.
• Supervises the repair and maintenance of plant equipment and buildings.
• Conducts performance appraisals and merit planning.
• Responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility which includes working with outside contractors on new or existing projects.
• Ensures that GMP's (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Supervisory skills
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
• College degree and/or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
• Certified or the ability to be certified in Better Process Control School and Thermal Processing and Container Closure Control School.
