What is the role about?

The Facilities and Capital Projects Group Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic planning of Endress+Hauser facilities, including capital projects such as construction, remodeling, and infrastructure improvements. This role is also responsible for ensuring efficient facility operations, managing tenant relationships, and leading cross-functional internal and external teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. The manager will also align facility initiatives with organizational goals, supervise a facilities team, manage asset inventory systems and lifecycle programs to enhance operational efficiency and long-term value, and drive continuous improvement across processes. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Which tasks will you perform?

  • Develop strategic plans for capital projects and facility management, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall objectives.
  • Direct the entire lifecycle of capital projects, from planning and budgeting to design, execution, and closeout.
  • Manage and lead teams of project managers, contractors, engineers, architects, and other vendors to deliver projects successfully.
  • Manage tenant relationships in a proactive and collaborative manner.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal departments, external parties, and other partners to define project scopes, assess risks, and ensure successful delivery, as well as ensuring company-wide compliance.
  • Create, monitor, and control facilities and project budgets, including tracking and managing expenses.
  • Conduct due diligence, risk assessments, and ensure projects and facility operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress, financial performance, and potential challenges, preparing and presenting reports to senior management.
  • Oversee daily facility operations, including maintenance, safety, security, and ensuring a clean and functional environment for employees and visitors.
  • Support sustainability efforts as it relates to facilities, including but not limited to: Monitor utility usage and costs. Report on annual usage to the Corporate Sustainability Team. Research, review, and implement sustainable efforts across facilities.
  • Define, implement and revise operational policies.
  • Develop and execute process initiatives to further develop the function.

What do we expect from you?

You will have (required):

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field, or an associate degree combined with equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, construction project management, or general operations leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale capital projects and facility operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Solid understanding of building systems, construction methods, codes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to problem-solve, work and make informed decisions independently and on own initiative.
  • Effective collaboration with others, sometimes across departments, to achieve organizational goals and enhance customer experience.
  • Willingness to travel as needed; travel expectation is approximately 10-15%

You may have (preferred):

  • Experience managing facilities of similar size and complexity.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and utility tracking.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of industry laws, regulations, and operational guidelines, with a commitment to staying current.
