The Product Engineer - Roller Bearings Role

Within our Industrial Business Unit, we are seeking a Product Engineer - Roller Bearings to join our Americas engineering team. This role is focused on the design and development of roller bearings, with emphasis on Spherical Roller Bearings (SRB) and Tapered Roller Bearings (TRB).

You will execute product design from concept through validation, applying your expertise in bearing design, materials, heat treatment specifications, and application knowledge. Working closely with customers, manufacturing plants, and global R&D centers, you will ensure NSK delivers robust, competitive, and reliable solutions for demanding industrial applications.

Responsibilities




  • Lead the design of roller bearings, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, manufacturability, and NSK's quality standards.


  • Create and review 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, design calculations, and validation plans.
  • Apply analytical methods and virtual simulations at product and system level to optimize bearing performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical input on materials, heat treatment specifications, and plant manufacturability.
  • Conduct design reviews, document design activities, and obtain approvals for new designs and changes.
  • Support customer validation programs, testing cycles, and returned product analysis.
  • Collaborate with sales, industry leaders, and global Technical Centers teams to identify opportunities and drive new development projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in industry standards and internal design rules, proactively screening and advising on the adoption of innovative design philosophies within NSK's engineering practices.


What We're Looking For



  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in product engineering or bearing design.
  • Proven expertise in roller bearing design, with hands-on knowledge of Spherical Roller Bearings (SRB) and Tapered Roller Bearings (TRB).
  • Strong knowledge of bearing materials, heat treatment specifications, and major industrial applications.
  • Skilled in CAD modeling, design calculations, and simulation techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate with global teams and travel domestically/internationally up to 25%.
