SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS JOB TITLE: Manager Electrical Design Engineering REQUISITION ID: NUC00DL DEPARTMENT: Design Engineering LOCATION: Wolf Creek - Clyde Cessna PAY RANGE: 16D min: $120,600 - max: $201,000 POSITION SUMMARY: This position manages electrical and I&C design engineering activities and oversees personnel that provide design engineering and configuration management activities at the plant. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage the electrical and I&C design engineering functions and personnel at Wolf Creek Generating Station * Oversee the development of plant modifications and ensure compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements * Maintain the design and licensing basis analyses and associated documentation * Manage personnel and ensure associated training requirements are met * Ensure work and tasks are completed as scheduled and within budget * Perform other duties as assigned by management EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: * This position requires a BS degree in engineering and 8 years relevant experience, or a MS degree in engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or PhD in engineering and 4 years of relevant experience. * The curriculum must be accredited by the accreditation board for engineering and technology (ABET). Any other baccalaureate engineering curriculum that has not been accredited by ABET but has been evaluated and found to be of an equivalent standard that may be reviewed and accepted by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions is acceptable. * Relevant experience is defined as professional level experience in engineering or nuclear operations providing the necessary overall background to establish and manage an engineering staff which performs engineering work within its capabilities. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Kansas Professional Engineers License is preferred. COGNITIVE SKILLS (language, mathematics, reasoning): * This position requires the ability to: read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents; respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. * This position requires the ability to: comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus and modern algebra. * This position requires the ability to: apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases; deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. VISION: This position has no special vision requirements. NOISE: This position requires the ability to work in a moderately noisy environment (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
