HJF is seeking a Director, Center/Program Operations (National Guard Program; NGP), who is responsible for directing operations of the NGP and its two components, the Army Behavioral Health Program (ARNG BH Program) and the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW), to maximize the effective use of program resources. Further responsibilities include developing and implementing operations plans and evaluating Center/Program efficiencies. Highest of the three levels in three level Operations Management (Manager, Senior Manager, Director) series. This position is also distinguished from the four levels in the Program Manager series in the following areas. Runs a defined but complex research activity characterized by greater than $5M in annual funding and multisite operations / studies. Oversees the entire portfolio of projects under a named Center or Program across operational, financial, and personnel pillars. The Director for Center / Program Operations is typically a high-functioning professional who also serves as the trusted advisor to the US Government lead. This position will be in support of the Department of Psychiatry / Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress and, in particular, its NGP Program. Program Summary: The National Guard Program comprises two components, the Army National Guard (ARNG) Behavioral Health (BH) Program and the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW). The ARNG BH Program's primary goals are to develop and standardize health surveillance efforts of NG service members' health behaviors and associated risk and protective factors, and promote rapid response knowledge efforts based on current ARNG policy and needs in the 54 states and territories. The IPPW is responsible for creating and implementing leadership prevention training and activities that promote the understanding of risk and protective factors related to violence prevention, as well as the development of evidence-based prevention strategies, programs, policies, and resources to support National Guard service members. The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) is one of the nation's oldest and most highly regarded, academic-based organizations dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge, leadership, and methodologies. The Center's work addresses a wide scope of trauma exposure from the consequences of combat, operations other than war, terrorism, natural and human-made disasters, and public health threats, as well as risk and protective factors associated with suicidal behaviors. CSTS is a part of our nation's federal medical school, Uniformed Services University (USU), and its Department of Psychiatry. These affiliations represent the Center's history, mission, and future directions as a major contributor to our country's understanding of the impact of trauma and the advancement of trauma-informed care. In addition to intramural research projects, the Department maintains active research funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Drug Abuse, National Science Foundation, the Department of the Army, and the Department of the Air Force. The department has ongoing collaborations with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, is sponsor of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, and provides psychiatry residency training through its affiliations with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, National Naval Medical Center and Malcolm Grow Air Force Medical Center, and the National Capital Area Graduate Medical Education Consortium.
