Job Title: Database Developer, Senior

Job Overview: LCG is seeking a Senior Database Developer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale database environments, with a focus on advanced SQL and PL/SQL scripts to support batch operations, ETL workloads, and real-time data integration across Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL platforms. This role manages secure database links for distributed systems, tunes high-complexity queries, optimizes stored procedures, and ensures performance of large relational and non-relational databases while supporting high-availability configurations, disaster recovery, and compliance with security and regulatory standards. The developer will collaborate with engineering teams to model schemas, partition strategies, and automation pipelines, while also providing technical mentorship on best practices in query optimization and database workflow automation. The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of senior-level experience in enterprise database scripting, integration, and performance tuning, with strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and preferred professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft SQL Server Certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, implement, and optimize advanced database scripts using SQL, PL/SQL, and automation tools to support batch operations, process scheduling, and ETL workloads.
  • Design and maintain efficient database links for distributed data environments, enabling secure, reliable connectivity and real-time data retrieval between multiple systems.
  • Develop, tune, and troubleshoot high-complexity SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions, maximizing database throughput and minimizing query latency across large datasets.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to model relational and non-relational schemas, generate dynamic queries, and optimize joins, indexes, and partitioning strategies.
  • Oversee enterprise database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), performing high-availability configuration, disaster recovery planning, and root cause analysis for database performance issues.
  • Implement cross-system data migration, leveraging database scripts and links to ensure accurate and efficient data movement between heterogeneous environments.
  • Enforce strong data integrity controls, develop role-based access scripts, and ensure ongoing compliance with database security and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical mentorship to database and development teams, championing best practices in script optimization, query structuring, and database workflow automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' hands-on experience in senior-level database development, with a proven record of enterprise-scale database scripting, query tuning, and integration.
  • Expert proficiency in T-SQL, PL/SQL, and procedural SQL, including dynamic script generation and performance optimization.
  • Extensive experience in designing and managing database links across Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL for seamless data integration.
  • Advanced skills in query analysis, troubleshooting, and diagnostic script creation for monitoring, reporting, and tuning purposes.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design principles, and normalization techniques for efficient metadata and data structures.
  • Competence with cloud database platforms and scripting for AWS or Azure environments.
  • Experience with automation, continuous integration pipelines, and developing test scripts for database deployments.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical mentorship abilities, with excellence in written and verbal communications.
  • Preferred: Professional certification in database development or administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft SQL Server Certification).
