Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
UNC's Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is seeking a highly organized and professional Temporary Executive Assistant to support the Associate Vice Chancellor/Dean of Students. This role serves as the principal administrative liaison and "right hand" to the Dean, providing high-level personal and operational support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Dean's calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel
- Serve as receptionist, handling phone and walk-in inquiries with discretion and professionalism
- Liaise between the Dean and internal/external stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, and community members
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations; maintain confidential files and records
- Assist with budget tracking, HR coordination, and general office operations
- Support divisional projects and committees, including the Dean's Advisory Council

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- A demonstrated possession of experience to perform the duties.
- Requires knowledge of confidentiality regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and other administrative tools
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and exercise sound judgment under pressure
