This is a UC San Diego Internal Recruitment open to UC San Diego Employees Only Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent oversees all non-Sponsored Project financial activity in the Department of Physics, totaling approximately $32 million annually. These activities span core funds, Foundation and gift accounts, self-supporting and recharge operations, and other discretionary departmental sources. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department. Provides financial analysis and recommendations to the Finance Manager, CAO, Chair, faculty, and other stakeholders on a broad range of financial matters. Works closely with the Finance Manager to develop and implement financial plans and strategies. Participates in strategic planning and campus initiatives, supports funding development and policy analysis, and collaborates on operational audits to recommend process improvements. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $79,200 - $143,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $37.93 - $68.68 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
