Position Title: Chemist Work Location: North Chicago Illinois, 60064 Assignment Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension) Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Weekends Included Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Position Summary The Chemist I uses scientific education and analytical chemistry experience to perform simple to moderately complex laboratory testing within a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) laboratory to generate accurate and reliable results. This role supports API, Raw Material, In-Process, and Drug Product testing laboratories while ensuring compliance with established procedures and specifications. Key Responsibilities Perform and verify a wide range of laboratory techniques independently while adapting to unforeseen technical or logistical obstacles. Understand multiple analytical techniques and principles; troubleshoot and resolve method- or instrument-related issues. Take initiative in team activities, decision-making, and continuous improvement planning. Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and recommend process improvements. Proactively recognize and resolve obstacles to ensure timely completion of assigned testing. Lead or support special projects to meet overall laboratory needs. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure timely product release. Interface with regulatory agencies during audit activities as required. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree in Sciences with 0-4 years of laboratory experience, OR Associate Degree with at least 3 years of laboratory experience. Skills & Competencies: Flexibility in shifts and workdays highly desirable. Ability to work under general supervision while managing time independently to multitask across responsibilities. Strong interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills. Desired Technical Competencies (not all required): LC, LCMS, GC, GCMS, ICP Empower Karl Fischer, dissolution, IR, titrations Common wet chemical testing
