Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The CAS Intern will support the Contractor Assurance System group by assisting with monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will gain exposure to performance assurance processes that ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements while contributing to operational effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Data collection & analysis
Gather organize and analyze CAS-related data from performance metrics, assessments, audits, and issue tracking systems.
Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
Documentation and Reporting
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining CAS documentation, procedures, and process maps.
Support preparation of presentations, reports, and dashboards for leadership review.
Assessments and Reviews
Participate in internal assessments and evaluations of contractor performance.
Track corrective actions and verify closure of findings.
Issue Management
Support issue tracking and resolution processes, including root cause analysis and lessons learned documentation.
Help maintain issue management systems to ensure compliance with CAS requirements.
Process Improvement
Assisting in benchmarking CAS practices against nuclear industry standards.
Propose ideas for streamlining assurance workflows and enhancing contractor oversight.
Collaboration & Support
Work with CAS team members, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely information sharing.
Provide administrative support for CAS meetings, including notetaking, and follow-up action tracking.
The hourly base rate of pay for this internship starts at $18.00, and may increase based on major and class standing.

Required Qualifications

Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university, or within one year after finishing a degree program.

Must have completed freshman year of college.

Must successfully complete Savannah River Site General Employee Training and substance abuse processing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with data tools (Power BI)
Basic understanding of databases and reporting tools
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong ethical standards and a commitment to integrity

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
