Will you join us on this journey? We are excited to add a Senior Accountant to our Accounting team! This role will be a hybrid position. The position will pay between $60,000- $79,000 based on previous relevant experience and educational credentials.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant position will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, updating accounting policies and procedures, participating in periodic close processes required for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, analyzing financial data for management and assisting in staff training. This position operates within tight deadlines and performs a multitude of more complex accounting activities, preparing various financial reports, reconciling and analysis of accounts, corresponding with and providing documentation for external auditors. The Senior Accountant will interact with finance colleagues, external service providers, and executives so strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts within ERP system
  • Completion of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close activities
  • Participate in financial statement preparation and assist with internal and external financial reporting
  • Prepares journal entries and monthly account reconciliations, resolves accounting issues and performs variance analysis
  • Respond to inquiries from management and work collaboratively within the finance team to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Work with finance management to ensure accurate and timely quarterly external reviews and annual audit
  • Assist in development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Support finance management with special projects and workflow process improvements

  • Seasoned professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field
  • May be responsible for entire projects or functions having modest scope/impact or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact to department results



SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:



  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments
  • Advanced knowledge of organization's technologies and practices
  • Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) rather than managing people



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:




  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in financial reporting/general ledger
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with financial ERP systems
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • SEC reporting experience



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work is typically performed in a normal office environment. Role routinely uses standard office equipment.
