If you are ready to be a leading force in improving the emergency preparedness response and health of citizens in Tennessee, we want you as the Health Regional Emergency Response Coordinator for the West region.

Job Overview:

The Health Regional Emergency Response Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and development of emergency response and biohazard plans for the West Tennessee region. This position plays a vital role in emergency preparedness within TDH, working closely with Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and Emergency Management Agency (EMA)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop emergency response plans and biohazard plans for the region which includes 2 regional offices and nineteen counties.
  • Serve as Incident Command during public health emergency responses.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to address priority concerns as determined by local, state, and federal Hazard Vulnerability Assessments.
  • Partner with senior hospital leaders to plan emergency response and manage grants that enhance readiness and resource distribution.
  • Coordinate the training of approximately 1,700 volunteers and 380 West Tennessee staff.
  • Collaborate with TEMA, EMA, first responders, law enforcement, hospitals, and health providers to assess regional vulnerabilities, public health staff capabilities, communication and training needs, and develop emergency response materials.
  • Directly supervise the regions Emergency Preparedness staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree 4 years experience in emergency preparedness, healthcare administration, or public health planning/education. Supervisory or management experience
