Position OverviewPosition works within a team environment to assist and complete daily duties in the Test LabResponsibilitiesDaily process testing of combined board and finished goods
Qualifications
Collect & prepare daily combined board samples for testing Perform Mullen, flat crush, pin adhesion and ECT on weekly samples Perform compression test evaluations Perform various tests on liner and medium when required Generate charts, graphs and reports as necessary Assist and perform ISTA testing for Customers, including prework calculations and reporting, ensuring accuracy to all ISTA and Customer specific testing protocols. Process Daily corrugator schedules for weekly samples, HazMat and special customer testing Monitor and ensure compliance to daily HazMat packaging orders Perform Competitor Spec analysis on samples supplied for quoting Support trials, conduct testing as required and analyze results; create and distribute reports Test samples and create Certificates of Analysis for customers Conduct monthly CTS testing Provide technical assistance and testing to other departments and divisions *Conduct physical testing on containerboard, corrugated board and corrugated containers *Accurately record data using the divisions internal data collection system *Analyze, chart, and report results of tests to assist internal and external customers with quality related issues *Perform projects that support the division's operational objectives *Collect, prepare, and condition samples of containerboard, corrugated board and corrugated containers *Monitor production operations and report quality and paper discrepancies to management *Calibrate test equipment on scheduled intervals to ensure accurate testing data *Using statistical process control (SPC), review and monitor testing data *Communicate via written and oral communication with internal and external customers *Perform daily activities in compliance with documented safety requirements *Consistently perform work in accordance with the divisions internal procedures and quality system *Assist in maintenance of laboratory quality processes and equipment *Maintain work area in an orderly mannerQualificationsRequires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for working with external customers and internal employees within the organization. Adaptable to routine change daily or as needed depending on workload Ability to work well within a team environment with clear feedback and communication Must be analytically and detail driven. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Related technical schooling is preferred. In lieu of technical education, related experience in a manufacturing setting may be considered. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office 365. Good communication skills, both oral and written, are required. Successful candidates will have problem solving skills and be able to work independently. Familiarity and experience with the following equipment is preferred: slide angle tester, score band tester, calipers and micrometers, small and large compression testers, and cutters.
