System Administrator (Contract) Location: On-site, 5 days/week Duration: Short-term contract (potential to extend) Industry: Confidential - High-Security Environment Overview We're seeking a System Administrator with strong server-side experience to support a high-priority infrastructure migration. Following a recent cyber attack, the organization is transitioning from VMware to Hyper-V and needs a technically sound, security-minded professional to assist in this recovery effort. This is a hands-on, on-site role working closely with IT leadership. The ideal candidate is intuitive, detail-oriented, and thrives in structured environments where following instructions and seeking clarity are valued. Key Responsibilities * Lead and support server migrations from VMware to Hyper-V * Maintain and manage Active Directory environments * Collaborate with the Network team and IT leadership to ensure secure and stable systems * Troubleshoot and resolve server-side issues independently * Apply a security-first mindset to all aspects of system administration Must-Have Skills * 3-5 years of server-side experience * Migration experience from VMware to Hyper-V * Strong knowledge of Active Directory * Security-focused approach to systems and infrastructure Nice-to-Have Skills * Network engineering fundamentals * Firewall configuration and management * Broader system administration experience Work Environment * 100% on-site * Collaborative team setting * High-security environment with strict protocols Why This Role Matters This position plays a key role in helping the organization recover from a cyber attack and build a more secure, resilient infrastructure.
