IEM is seeking a Full Time - Verification of Benefits and Quality Control Specialist (VOB QC Specialist) to review applications for quality, completeness, and eligibility. This role involves documenting findings, communicating with case managers, and ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures. The specialist may also support day-to-day project management activities related to quality control.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills. The role requires strict adherence to federal and state regulations and program guidelines.
Primary Location:
- Live anywhere in the United States that meets remote work requirements.
- Work remotely from home or personal office location
- Preference will be given to residents of Pasco County, followed by candidates residing in the State of Florida.
Essential Functions:
- Review records for duplication of benefits (DOB), fraud, waste, and inconsistencies; investigate and resolve issues in collaboration with internal teams.
- Analyze documentation for accuracy and discrepancies in line with program policy.
- Maintain knowledge of program needs, policies, workflows, and SOPs.
- Contribute to updates and improvements in VOB and QC processes.
- Address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage workload and communications to ensure efficient, policy-compliant processing.
- Communicate effectively and make sound decisions to support team success.
- Respond to inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Perform other remote duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree: Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited university in a relevant field.
- Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience providing high level review of documentation and strong analytical skills.
- Experience and Degree Substitution: In lieu of a degree, five (5) or more years of relevant experience providing high level review of documentation and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and professionalism in case evaluations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of handling personally identifiable information (PII), especially health or income-related data.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with housing policy, document verification, quality assurance/control, or appeals processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader.
