About the Position:

CWB is seeking a responsible and results-oriented part-time hourly wage employee for the Student Strengths Coaching Coordinator position. This position will work with our Student Strengths Coaching Program, which is a new initiative in CWB that provides opportunities for undergraduate students to coach other students on the application of CliftonStrengths. CliftonStrengths is a self-discovery assessment available to all members of the Mason community.

The maximum authorized hours of work for this position will be up to 29 hours per week. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Strengths Coaching, the Student Strengths Coaching Coordinator will work with fellow CWB staff, the student coaches, and other organizations throughout the university to help build and administer the program. The role includes organizing and executing the student coach recruitment process, helping administer key aspects of the required Student Strengths Education course, supporting students and ongoing logistics for the Student Strengths Coaching program, and supporting the Mason Strengths Academy.


Responsibilities:



  • Works alongside associate director to plan and administer the Student Strengths Coaching program;
  • Organizes and executes the student coach recruitment process, to include marketing, on-campus and virtual events such as information sessions, social media campaigns, and the interview process;
  • Works with the CWB and other Mason marketing teams to ensure wide-spread visibility for the Students Strengths Coaching program;
  • Helps administer student coaching, training and team building, to include ongoing student support and assessment;
  • Supports faculty and staff development through the Mason Strengths Academy;
  • Provides project management support, to include scheduling, creating agendas and slides for meetings, follow-up notes, and other administrative items as needed;
  • Creates documents, slide decks, spreadsheets, and survey forms using Microsoft and/or Google programming suites; and
  • Provides support with miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed.


Required Qualifications:


  • Experience leading projects in an organization with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Ability to independently lead initiatives or resolve issues through to successful completion, ensuring measurable results;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously;
  • Demonstrated attributes that provide effective work habits, including accuracy, timeliness and reliability in meeting deadlines;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
  • The ability to work independently as well as to collaborate successfully in a team setting;
  • Other Attributes that demonstrate a commitment to making an active and meaningful contribution to the university's well-being initiative; and
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of and interest in coach education, well-being, and leadership development;
  • Knowledgeable about assessment strategies and ability to develop and evaluate strategy effectiveness;
  • Experience working with university students;
  • Experience creating engaging social media content; and
  • Ability to learn new platforms quickly.
