Senior Electrical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our facility's electrical systems. This pivotal role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical infrastructure while driving continuous improvement across operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, strategic foresight, and a collaborative spirit to support mission-critical systems and capital projects. Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation Lead the research, design, detailing, and installation of facility electrical systems to meet operational and safety standards. Operational Readiness Partner with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Plant teams to ensure robust emergency preparedness and system resilience. Maintenance Excellence Drive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies in collaboration with O&M teams to minimize downtime and extend asset life. Infrastructure Planning Conduct facility studies, assess current and future needs, and recommend capital improvements backed by data-driven analysis. Project Oversight Manage electrical components of construction and renovation projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with budget, timeline, and strategic goals. Policy & Standards Development Create, interpret, and implement maintenance policies, technical standards, and best practices to elevate operational consistency. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless service delivery and project execution. Documentation & Design Review Develop and refine electrical design standards, site-specific operating procedures, and review technical submittals for accuracy and compliance. Drawing Management Update and maintain electrical one-line diagrams and site drawings, including redline revisions to reflect system changes.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- 8 - 12 years of experience in electrical engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems.
- Experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical design principles and practices in commercial applications including regulations for electrical systems, e.g. National Electrical Code.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
- Understanding of energy efficiency and sustainable design practices.
- Experience supporting medium voltage power distribution, backup generators, data centers, UPS systems, and lighting control systems.
- Ability to resolve highly complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems across electrical systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and customer on technical solutions, project requirements, goals, and design.
- Experience with industrial control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and instrumentation.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized subject matter expert (SME).
- Experience with electrical construction, systems integration, and testing in field environments.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Experience with reactive maintenance for building electrical systems.
