Reporting to the VP of Development, the Director of Development for Energy Storage will manage and lead the Energy Storage Development team to deliver investment opportunities across the US. The Director will manage a growing pipeline of projects, with a focus on advancing and delivering nearly 10 GWh existing mid and late-stage projects. The Energy Storage Development team is responsible for leading standalone storage and retrofits of operating facilities while also acting as subject matter experts to support hybrid projects within the renewables pipeline. This role is best suited for an experienced developer with demonstrated results leading a team and bringing projects to construction handover. Working in concert with internal and external experts, responsibilities include project management, landowner and community relations, obtaining land use permits, shepherding projects through high-profile interconnection decision points, and finalizing offtake contracts, GIAs, and EPC agreements to carry a project through final investment decisions and ultimately to NTP. Identify strategic business opportunities
Bring strong customer focus & understanding of customer needs
Lead energy storage development on mid-late stage pipeline
Manage project team members and work effectively with technical subject matter experts
Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with external stakeholders including customers, project partners, local officials, community members, landowners, transmission owners, environmental agencies, regulatory bodies, etc.
