The department of Physical Therapy at Nazareth University is seeking applications for a nine-month full-time tenure track or clinical line position starting in January or August 2026. Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and teaching experience.
Department of Physical Therapy
Nazareth University has a well-established six-year
DPT program with an excellent reputation for experiential learning, a contemporary curriculum, and experienced faculty with various areas of specialty and expertise. This program includes two entry modes, both undergraduate and graduate, with a cohort size of 60 students per class. Clinical experiences are integrated throughout the curriculum in on-site pro-bono and community-based clinics. Community connections and support are extensive and include opportunities for interprofessional collaboration.
Thirteen full-time faculty, supported by associated faculty, provide a variety of professional, clinical, and research opportunities for students. Faculty has dedicated time for scholarship, access to state-of-the-art facilities for teaching, clinical work, and research, as well as extensive administrative support. Faculty are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive teaching and learning environment.
The York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute (
YWRI) is an interprofessional facility which houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, creative arts therapy, music therapy, social work, and communication sciences and disorders. Additional highlights include a movement analysis laboratory and on-site clinics with a home transition laboratory. The
YWRI promotes interprofessional clinical education, research, and classroom learning while providing clinical services to individuals in the community.
Position and Responsibilities
The department is seeking candidates who have completed or are in the process of earning a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, and DSc) for the tenure track line. Previous teaching experience in a
DPT program and a minimum of three years of clinical practice is preferred. Candidates with a commitment to teaching excellence within the classroom and on-campus clinics who possess a scholarly agenda are encouraged to apply. All candidates must be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in New York State.
