Your Job

Molex is adding a Plating Laboratory Technician to their team! In this role, you will be responsible for performing analysis and maintaining plating chemistries to meet plating specifications and record documentation accurately. You will also handle chemicals and conduct procedures in a safe manner.

What You Will Do

Perform routine chemical analysis of plating baths, including precious metals, rinse waters, and other process solutions, using techniques such as titration, ICP, and pH measurements to determine concentrations and ensure optimal conditions as scheduled per work instructions.

Operate all analytical laboratory equipment

Maintain accurate and organized records for lab instruments, chemical usage, process parameters, and internal audits

Analyze all precious metals baths daily, generate the Precious Metals Inventory Report, compare with SAP inventory, and publish a gap report.

Assist co-workers and provide on-the-job training as required.

Monitor waste treatment equipment and R.O. operation

Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring equipment functions correctly and meets standards

Assess process problems and correct them using analysis, work instructions, and SPC

Diagnose and troubleshoot plating defects or process deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions

Work with Plating Engineers & other Plating team members for Precious metals improvement projects

Adhere to strict safety protocols for handling chemicals, managing hazardous waste, and ensuring compliance with environmental, OSHA, and EPA regulations

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

High School diploma or G.E.D.

Previous experience working in a Lab with basic chemistry and lab instrument experience.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Experience working with plating precious metals such as gold and silver
