POSITION SUMMARY:

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring all customers have a positive experience when purchasing gift shop items. Maintains the gift shops visual appearance through merchandise positioning and placement. Adheres to cash handling and inventory procedures & policies to ensure financial success and sustainability.

Shift: Day Shift, 40 Hours Per Week
Location: St. Petersburg, FL

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  1. Greets and assists all guests with their purchases in a courteous and professional manor to ensure guests' needs are met or exceeded.
  2. Proficiently performs required functions on the point of sales system to ensure accuracy in inventory and cash handling controls to ensure fiscal success.
  3. Receives merchandise and creates product displays/placement to increase the level of safety and improve shop appearance to promote guest satisfaction and increase sales.
  4. Assists with the on-boarding of incoming associates and volunteers to ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction.
  5. Assists to create purchase orders, operates SAP system and facilitates Department orders.



  1. Ability to run gift shop for multiple days independently including customer service, checkout, product ordering, stocking and vendor payment while manager is out of office or on PTO
  2. Evaluates product sales and pricing changes to ensure the correct items are stocked and priced correctly. Loads new products and price changes in POU system.
  3. Reconciles monthly charges from other departments and coordinates with accounting to charge back departments via SAP journal entry
  4. Coordinates special 3rd party sales events to increase employee engagement and supports department events with gifts and decorations



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement
  • 2-4 years of retail experience required, preferably in a gift/clothing setting
  • Preferred experience a retail store keyholder


Experience with Point-of-Sale systems

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
