Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., has been a trusted leader in the waterworks industry for over 100 years. We specialize in the manufacturing and distribution of ductile iron fittings, joint restraints, and valve boxes, and we take pride in the quality and reliability of our products.

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our foundry team. In this role, you will assist with developing written process information and support daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

** To be considered for this position, you must be actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Facilities Management, or related field.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $17.00
  • Up to 29 hours per week

Job Description

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Work with supervision and team members taking foundry machinery operating process instructions and creating easily understood standard operating procedures with photos for multiple processes and machines.
  • Convert SOPs into training documents.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and audits, as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • Degree: Must be actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Computer: Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical & Cognitive Abilities

  • Physical activities: Climbing, lifting to twenty-five (25) pounds, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials.
  • Personal Safety: Must wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
