Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Circuit Board Assembler to perform detailed electronic and mechanical assembly work on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and subassemblies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with soldering, through-hole and surface-mount technology, and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work under a microscope for extended periods in a cleanroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble electronic and/or mechanical components and subassemblies, including modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
Read and interpret diagrams, assembly drawings, and work instructions to perform accurate builds.
Use various hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and soldering irons for assembly and modification work.
Perform soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components in compliance with IPC standards.
Conduct visual and continuity inspections to ensure product quality and functionality.
Disassemble, rework, modify, and test prototype assemblies per engineering specifications.
Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures and safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians to resolve assembly and design issues.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all quality and production standards.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
Experience with hand soldering, through-hole, and surface-mount (SMT) assembly processes.
Familiarity with pick-and-place equipment and PCB assembly techniques.
Must be able to sit and perform assembly under a microscope for extended periods.
Must pass a required medical exam as outlined in the supplier guide.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in electronic circuit board assembly or rework.
Knowledge of ESD precautions, IPC-A-610, and quality inspection standards.
Experience with troubleshooting and testing electronic components is a plus.
Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Additional Information
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (4/10 schedule)
Work Environment: Cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment; safety and ESD compliance required.
Physical Requirements: Extended sitting, use of fine motor skills, and close visual focus under microscopes.
Pre-employment Requirement: Must successfully pass a medical exam and meet all supplier compliance requirements.
