Position Summary:


The EH&S Technician is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the performance and growth of EHS Programs at SkyWater - MN, with emphasis on Health & Safety. The EHS Technician will assist with key responsibilities for ensuring compliance with state and federal legislation as applicable to the organization and supporting the critical relationships and permits with regulatory agencies. This position will be executing and monitoring EHS strategies to minimize environmental impacts and promote a safe & healthy workplace for our employees.


Major Areas of Accountability:



  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Provide daily EHS guidance to employees and supervisors.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate with managers to update safety protocols and recommend improvements.
  • Support Emergency Response Team training, meetings, and drills.
  • Implement corrective actions and maintain detailed safety records.
  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Support environmental compliance (waste disposal, stormwater, wastewater sampling).
  • Monitor first-aid cabinets and AED machines for readiness.
  • Help meet company health, safety, sustainability, and environmental goals.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to research and apply basic regulatory guidelines in support of environmental health and safety compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups to achieve desired results.
  • Assemble, arrange computer, and interpret data.
  • Generate reports as required.


Required Qualifications:



  • Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree and/or formal education in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline preferred but sufficient experience will be strongly considered in place of education/degree.
  • Experience: 0-3 years experience leading and implementing EHS programs, conducting EHS training and enforcing adherence to EHS rules.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage effective change associated with people, equipment and process changes.
  • Ability to build, motivate and lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, with a focus on measurable results.
  • Can recognize the need, and effectively escalate in the event of conflict or misalignment threatens the success of a project.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Some experience leading and implementing EHS programs, conducting EHS training and enforcing adherence to EHS rules.

The hourly range for this role is $21.54- $32.31 per hour. Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
