Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a board certified skilled and dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our dynamic team. You Can Expect:

  • Perform a wide range of adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures
  • Night Call 1:3; Participate in weekend and holiday call 1:3
  • Set OR blocks
  • Position is heavy on inpatient with day of outpatient clinic per week
  • Rounding on patients
  • 4 Surgical APC's on inpatient side and 2 CT surgery APC's on outpatient side

  • We are a 325-bed Level II Trauma Center with two medical transport helicopters as well as ground ambulance which services a 22-county area of more than 700k population
  • Primary Stroke Center with an onsite Inpatient Rehab Center

  • Our regional system includes six critical access hospitals, as well as 65+ clinics

  • Residency training programs allow our staff to practice and teach in a very collegial environment

La Crosse is the largest city in western Wisconsin and is nestled between the soaring bluffs to the east and the legendary Mississippi River to the west. La Crosse boasts some of the best outdoor recreation, excellent schools, including three universities, affordable housing in safe neighborhoods, and endless variety of live entertainment and breathtaking beauty, making this a great place to call home.

Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated. In addition, must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Medical staff in our system will supervise advanced practice clinicians. Medical staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all medical staff.
