This Engineering Test Technician, as part of the Watts Applied Solutions team, will be responsible for critical support and testing of R&D products in the lab, with a focus on heat pumps, and in the field while maintaining customer product satisfaction with exceptional troubleshooting and technical skills.
This position reports to the R&D Integration manager. This role is in person and is based in Fort Worth.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Run various product testing under guidance from engineering team.
- Support production testing, training and troubleshooting of Heat Pumps
- Communicate with customers, representatives or service technicians via telephone concerning product and service issues.
- Visit customers to provide on-site troubleshooting of product or service problems as needed.
- Participate in ongoing development trainings, both onsite and external.
- Assist in the creation of all technical service procedures and bulletin documentation.
- Assist in maintaining Operations and Maintenance manuals.
- Assist in product/service-related training seminars for Representatives and Service Technicians at company locations and in the field.
- Assist in developing preventative maintenance procedures.
- Act as a liaison between technical service and engineering as new troubleshooting requirements become necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of plant processes, techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment for plant tours.
- Participate in cross-functional, new product and problem-solving teams as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing to travel up to 30%.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree required.
- Minimum of five years in HVAC or related industry troubleshooting or testing refrigeration equipment.
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including urinalysis, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree or coursework in refrigeration.
- Significant experience with CO2 refrigeration systems, including design, troubleshooting and testing.
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starters take ownership of the process.

Working Conditions: While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Fort Worth location (Monday - Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
