SUMMARY
The Learning Specialist I provide diagnostic evaluations and intervention programs for children with learning disabilities in all settings in which learning services are offered, including but not limited to outpatient, outreach, and telehealth programs.
Shift Details: 1.0 FTE - eligible for benefits. 4x10 hour shifts. This role is hybrid. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays in clinic at Health Pavilions from 9:00am - 7:00pm and Mondays and Wednesdays telehealth from 8:00am - 6:00pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
1. Completes diagnostic evaluations consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in learning disabilities and department quality assurance standards. Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
2. Provides developmentally appropriate intervention services consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in learning disabilities and department quality assurance standards. Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
3. Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other educational institutions, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. All interactions are non-judgmental and based on mutual respect.
4. Completes case management activities consistent with department quality assurance and quality improvement standards. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets. Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location and time frames.
5. Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Master's degree in special education, speech-language pathology, psychology or related field.
- EXPERIENCE - One-year pediatric experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or school setting providing evaluation and treatment services for children with learning disabilities, required. Special Education background preferred.
- CERTIFICATION(S) - Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- LICENSURE - Professional certification or license may be required depending upon field of expertise (e.g. Colorado Department of Education Teacher's License).
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $68,066.41 to $102,099.61
